Good food, great prices, friendly service. And they let my bring in my coffee! 2 people stuffed full for $10 total and the sourdough toast is amazing!

I'll say for the most past the food is pretty decent, but this last time I was in there all the staff wanted to do for their Saturday was play games and sit with other customers while we were eating. Soda hit the bottom of the glass and took forever to get the waitress to come back since she was sitting with someone else chatting away. If she wasn't there she was outside smoking a cigarette and talking with the same guy. There was some guy there (first time I've seen him) that I'm guessing was working there that threw one of the table cleaning towels at one of the other girls working there and she told him to stop, but he didn't care. She told him it had bleach on it and I could tell she didn't care for his actions.....neither did I for that matter. Seems like if the head managers aren't around they just do what they want. I probably won't be back here....too childish of a staff and service sucks.

The service was good, but the food was pretty bad. My eggs were rubbery, the country fried steak was brittle - never had a brittle steak. Literally broke apart as I tried to cut it. The hashed browns were charred in some places, uncooked in others. The biscuits and gravy were decent.

Showed up around 8pm. They close at 9. I ordered one of the specials for the evening. 6oz sirloin steak dinner. Worth the $6.99. CJs is a block away from where I live. I've seen banners outside that boast a 5$ steak...in my mind, I never gave this spot a second look...I thought...how good could a place be with a $5 steak?! The steak was actually good...the fries were pretty noteworthy. The bread pudding ( although my friend boasted about the huge portion) was smaller than I anticipated...it was INCREDIBLE!!!! The service? Not so incredible...it's tacky to electrically vacuum the dinning area while guests are eating. It says "getting out of here 5 minutes sooner is more important than the conversations of our guests while eating their meals". My ice tea was neglected a refill, while the other two people at our table received theirs...one of those refills wasn't even wanted...so I ate my dessert with nothing to wash in down. Our dinner rolls also had to be asked for, and made it for the end of our meal. Our server was sweet. She was also super social as well...which meant anything we asked for took extra long to get there because she was busy chatting with co workers and customers that she knew....also, something caught fire in the kitchen...the fire department showed...smelt yucky for the last 15-20 mins of our stay.I probably wouldn't make a return trip....if it weren't for the super low priced specials and that stellar bread pudding...maybe next time I'll order to go...

Would've been better off making breakfast at home. Cheap food in cost and quality. Nice waitress, although she never came back to check on us or deliver the check. Big portions, but lots of inexpensive fillers (rice, potatoes) and a few bits of meat. Then again, I got what I paid for.

For the price, pretty decent, not great. My eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, biscuit with gravy came out warm not hot but for $3.99!! Not bad. Service was good and I will be back for sure.

Not too shabby. CJ's is like a Denny's or IHOP, but much better quality and slightly more expensive. I had the 1/3 lb. bacon cheeseburger and Lisa had a cold trukey sandwich (which wasn't even on the menu). The waitress was more than happy to deliver a custom sandwich. The turkey was wonderful. No Subway-style pressed meat type product here. This was fresh turkey that appeared to be carved right off the bird! Nice! The burger was good. The obviously never frozen patty was super juicy and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fries and fry sauce were disappointing. Way too much mayo in the fry sauce and the fries were undercooked and had a not great seasoning on them. The service was very freindly and quite prompt. The place is a bit rundown and the pleather seat on my side of the booth had a giant tear/hole in it. This would be the perfect place to come for a comfort food hangover cure. Lots of regulars and a very homey feel combine to make CJ's a winner.

I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars. That's how bad it was. When I took my family there were two other tables of customers. One was full of staff sitting around talking. After waiting for the hostess to finish her conversation we were seated. We declined coffee and were brought two glasses of tap water. (They didn't even ask if we wanted soda and offered no water to our two kids). My husband and I both ordered salads with our meal. We both literally took two bites before setting it aside. The salad was basically thawed out iceberg lettuce (you could tell it had been frozen because it was soggy), with runny dressing. The meal portions were huge, which was nice since it was so cheap. The garlic bread was amazing. That's the only thing good about the meal. It was really good. The waitress wore her ipod the entire time she was serving us and hardly said a word. It was awkward. The food was OK (minus the salad, which was revolting) but the customer service was horrible.

Yay for breakfast! Best waffles I've had in a long while. Very accommodating for a large group. Every one seemed pretty satisfied. The fish and chips was a litte strange (grilled instead of fried) but whatever. Only complaint: the waitress kind of man-handled the food. She scared me when pouring coffee.

Service was good. Server recommended the soup of the day calm chowder, I've had better but it was pretty good. I ordered the t-bone and asked for medium rare, no potatoes and extra veggies. It took a good 20 minutes for my main dish to arrive and the steak looked like it had been burned to cinders - it was actually crispy. It was beyond well done it was completely charred - and tough as shoe leather. The veggies - well they were canned green beans and canned tomatoes mixed - not an appetizing sight next to the crispy black cow hide. The waitress did offer to return the steak but I did not have time to wait for another attempt. Two stars = 1 for food and 3 for service. Recommendation - if you like steak this is not the place!

this place is dreadful. there is no bakery, so not sure why they have that in the name. the 'hostesses' couldn't seat themselves in an empty room, and the food is not of good quality. RUN away. how do they stay in business?

My Family and I went to CJ's for the first time ever. We saw their advertisements for the steak 6 oz dinner $5.99. I have to say the service was friendly and prompt. Our coffee's where full at all times. But then at the cost of the coffee they needed to keep them full. We paid $8 for four cups of drip coffee. The steaks may have been 6 oz but where very thin. Mine on one end was over cooked :( They do offer HUGE baked potatoes and very good carrots. The cheesecake square is no crust and fluffy cheesecake we all did not like. As for the Chicken Parmesan it was overloaded with noodles to make the meal look huge. But it lacked sauce and priced at $9 :( Our Kids meal was $5 and the corn dog was half burnt. The smiley fries where cute :) But in my opinion the overall kids meal was not worth the value. The Iceburg offers more options that include fries & drink for only $3 Plus, it comes with a small Ice Cream cone. Not sure if we will return soon but if we do it may be for a breakfast or lunch and no more kids meals or coffee. I can get a Starbucks at that price!
